My name is Emily and I have been practicing as a midwife since 2015. I came into midwifery after working on a research project at McMaster University during my first degree in kinesiology. I fell in love with the holistic approach midwifery provides to pregnant people. I believe strongly that every pregnant person deserves to be supported and empowered to make their own decisions regarding their healthcare. Serving as an advocate during this time in someone’s life is extremely rewarding to me and I love seeing how people embrace this.

I am beyond thrilled to be joining Midland Midwives by the Bay as moving to the area has always been a dream of mine. I previously practiced at Countryside Midwives; which is where my passion for rural midwifery was born and my comfort and skill in protecting birth as normal and physiological developed. I grew up on a farm just outside Kitchener Waterloo, so this area is new to me, but I am so excited to be able to enjoy the active outdoor lifestyle it can provide. When I am off call you will likely find me outside walking, running or hiking with my dog Arlow.
